Henning Zieger’s approach to product development was shaped early—he often says he was “born in a factory,” and it’s not far from the truth.
As a child, he spent time on the production floor of his family’s manufacturing business, where he became fascinated with how ideas are transformed into real, tangible products. One of his earliest memories is watching his own drawings sealed into blister packaging—an experience that captured the full arc from concept to finished product.
He began working in the business at a young age. At ten, he built a digital bill-of-materials system using IBM DB2, helping transition from manual card files to structured data. By his early teens, he was working in the machine shop, contributing to the fabrication of injection molds, die-punch tools, assembly equipment, and early prototypes. This hands-on experience continued through his formative years and established a practical understanding of how products are actually made.
During college, Henning worked in the company’s art department, where he designed and produced product materials at a time when digital tools were just emerging. In that role, he developed a strong ability to translate technical work into clear, compelling communication—supporting product launches that consistently improved performance while reducing costs.
He studied Mechanical Engineering and International Finance at the University of Southern California, combining technical training with a deep understanding of markets, operations, and capital efficiency. This dual perspective continues to inform his approach to product development today.
Henning later served as Director of Marketing for the family business, where he worked across design, engineering, and operations to bring products to market at scale. Under his leadership, the company achieved category-leading positions with major retailers, supported by coordinated product development, manufacturing execution, and market presentation.
Over the course of his career, Henning has developed products across medical, consumer, home, and institutional markets, and is named as an inventor on multiple patents. His work consistently focuses on bridging the gap between concept and reality—ensuring that products are not only innovative, but manufacturable, scalable, and successful in the market.
Today, he leads Henning Product Development with the same focus: aligning product, people, and resources to bring ideas into the real world. He is actively involved in projects, working alongside clients and partners while building a team and network capable of supporting increasingly complex product development challenges.
